Conference: Stopping Demolition – Promoting Renovation

Sideshore will be attending the Conference “Stopping Demolition - Promoting Renovation” on February 12, 2025, at 18:30 at Tramsschapp, Luxembourg. This event marks the official launch of the HouseEurope! citizens' initiative in Luxembourg, bringing together experts from architecture, heritage, and sustainability.

At Sideshore, we believe that preserving existing structures is key for modern cities. Recently we completed work on Gemini One, which is a transformed landmark in Luxembourg, blending history, sustainability, and modern design. Originally a key financial institution under Kredietbank S.A. Luxembourgeoise (KBL), it played a pioneering role in European finance. Now reimagined as a high-end residential building, it balances preservation and innovation by retaining part of the original structure while integrating new construction. This adaptive reuse reduces its carbon footprint, achieving an AA energy rating. More than a residence, Gemini One exemplifies sustainable architecture, where heritage and modernity coexist harmoniously.
